My Son Carried This Around

My 8yo son carried this book around with him. Even slept with it! He had his nose stuck in it, occasionally looking up to tell me a joke but mostly just enjoying giggling at the humor that is perfect for the older elementary set. Kids don't realize that reading this book is helping them improve their language skills. I loved this book and recommend it highly as a gift for a kid in your life. And it's the perfect size to fit in a Christmas stocking.

Definitely not short on chuckles

This joke book is definitely a contender for Most Popular Joke Book of the Year. Yes, it has some "groaners" but those are what the kids like the most! The humor is clean, imaginative, and suitable for kids as well as adults. I enjoyed it very much and I'm not much of a joke book reader, but I find myself still remembering the chuckles even when I have now forgotten the punchlines! I wish my grandson was 9 instead of 5 so that I could tickle his funnybone!

My 7 year old son loves this book. Yes, the jokes are corny but this book is directed towards children.
My son really likes the jokes. It's hilarious watching him laughing after he read the jokes. He thinks I'm laughing at the jokes when I'm really laughing at him.

Why so expensive?

I don't understand why this book is so expensive. I have read it; the information is good, and yet not that difficult to find in other ways such as googling osteoporosis and calcium.

Save Your Money

This book is long on criticism, big on print, and short on supporting data or references.
It discredits much about the traditional approach to osteoporosis treatment--without giving sources or directed references to research that backs up the criticism. It also lacks supporting data for the effect of the Program on bone density or fracture risk. Maybe I missed it. If this info is in there, please direct me to it.
Strangely enough, the passage explaining how the program will benefit its audience (presumably, osteoporosis patients) does not mention bone, bone density, or fracture risk. Excerpted passage:
“Osteoporosis is in fact not really a disease but rather the body’s attempt to correct a certain biochemical imbalance in body tissues. This imbalance can be reversed by mainly following simple dietary guidelines that are explained in great detail in a later chapter.”
I missed the simple guidelines. There was a lot of nutritional info with diet suggestions, many recommended supplements, and some information about the alkaline diet, but I didn’t see a simple, straightforward Program to follow.
For some reason, the author intentionally neglected to mention anything about bone density or fracture risk in discussing what her Program will do. Odd for a program called "Save Our Bones!"
• Why might that be?
• If the author had references to solid data backing up her bold-sounding claims, why wouldn’t she include them? That would only help patients and help sell her Program.

Loved this novella from one of my favorite historical romance ...

Loved this novella from one of my favorite historical romance authors. I loved how Marcus and Tessa met - with her saving him and the nod to the de Wolfe legend. I'm new to this Kindle World but will definitely check out more of the authors involved. Although a shorter novella length, the story had everything I love in historical romance - a richly drawn setting, intrigue, a spunky heroine and a strong hero. Great chemistry between Marcus and Tessa. Look forward to exploring more of the de Wolfe stories and the start of this new series from Williams.

Trusting The Wolfe.

This is part of the "World of de Wolfe Pack". These are all inspired by Kathryn Le Veque's character William de Wolfe. This one in set in Victorian times with one of his descendants.

Marcus de Wolfe has ventured down to London for two purposes. One to find out why his business and ships are losing money. The other to fulfill his duty to his heritage and find a bride. Since the death of his first wife and childhood sweetheart, he can't risk his heart again.
Tessa Maycroft is rushing back to her dressmaker shop when she comes across a badly wounded man. He must be out of his mind with blood loss, because he says the strangest things.
Tessa and her aunt have worked hard to make a living, and employ apprentices in the shop to give the girls a way to keep of the streets. If Aunt Betty had not stepped in when Tessa needed her, it could easily been her fate.

This is a beautiful love story with few surprises, but lots of depth. It fits in with the series very well. Our hero, while he may not be as over powering as his ancestor, is fitting for his times. A time when people are just beginning to worry about the poor and downtrodden in the big city. Our heroine fits nicely with this family. She is strong, independent, caring and will not put up with a man who will not see her worth.

I loved it. Now I must find more from this author.

de Wolfe, the hero to trust...and fall for!

From the very first chapter, I knew I would love Trusting the Wolfe. Love the title too!

At first we meet brave de Wolfe and realize he’s going to die if he doesn’t get help. And who should help him but an angel, Tessa Maycroft. She’s a seamstress who just happens by the stabbed-and-left-for-dead Marcus de Wolfe. Their meeting is…wow!…so romantic.

They find each other again, after Marcus has healed, and fate will not leave them alone until they get to know each other better and their passion for each other grows. And through it all they have to solve a mystery they are both intertwined with! See, I told you about the fate thing. :)

I loved de Wolfe. He’s definitely a hero to trust!!!

A Wickedly Funny HIstorical!

King Henry sends his court jester, Nicholas to the home of Hugh, the Earl of Fordham. Nicholas is to be a wedding present for the earl, and his bride, Isabeau. At the same time, Julianna, Isabeau's widowed daughter, is summoned to the home also. Nicholas and Julianna share a litter on their ride to the earl's home. We, as readers, get to eavesdrop on their wickedly funny conversation. And of course, we share in their romance, as well.
Nicholas has a hidden agenda. At King Henry's behest, he's to find the chalice of Saint Hugelina, the Dragon, and bring it to him. Julianna, and others, stand in his way. Julianna, has suffered a miserable marriage and wishes to join a convent. She has no wish to join with a "fool", a court jester. Nicholas, however, has different ideas. How Nicholas brings his two goals together, is what makes this book so very good.
This story is peopled with many interesting supporting characters. Hugh and Isabeau provide an unusual secondary romance. There's a priest who is truly evil, and a Brother Abbot who has his own agenda. Gilbert, a fosterling of Hugh's has a sweet face and a "killer" disposition. All, and others, play major rolls in the finding of the chalice, and in Julianna's and Nicholas' romance.
This is not a "dark" romance. There is humor, sly and clever innuendoes, Nicholas' rhymes, bawdy songs. If you're like me, you'll find yourself laughing out loud. And yet none of the humor hurts the romance, at all. The sensuality is sweet, but also erotic. And, Nicholas and Julianna felt very "real" to me. I read, and enjoyed this book in one sitting; and, I will read it again soon. This was a "keeper" for me!

Anne Stuart at her best!!

This has definitely got to be one of my favorites by Anne Stuart. It was a funny, heart warming and yet heart wrenching romantic adventure. I loved it!! It is about a young widow named Julianna, who, after her cold husband of ten years passes away, is sent to stay with her mother whom she has not seen since her marriage. She was sent away when she was 11 to marry the older man and since then has not been able to completely forgive her mother. Well, now her mother (also a widow) is to be remarried and the King has sent Nicholas, a jester, as a temporary wedding gift. However, Nicholas is REALLY sent to steal a precious chalice from Julianna's step father-to-be and has no idea what he is about to get himself into. The characters in this book are rich and full of life. I absolutely adored Julianna and Nicholas. Even at his worse, Nicholas was a splendid character. Full of adventure and fun and romance, I highly recommend this book. After having read several of Anne Stuart's books, I believe this one comes very, very close to being her best yet. So, anyone with a liking for romances with a twist and charming characters should definitely pick this book up!! It is one you are not likely to forget for quite some time.

Bawdy fun and great romance

The hero of this book, Nicholas Strangefellow, is a court jester for Henry III. But come on, this is an Anne Stuart book, so we soon find out that he is also a secret agent for the king, with secrets of his own and ambitions for the future. He is also quite the ladies' man, and is a favorite of the king's sister.
He is sent by Henry to Fortham Castle to steal the Chalice of St. Hugelina the Dragon, a religious relic that the king covets, under the guise of being the "entertainment" for the Earl of Fortham's upcoming wedding. Right away Nicholas meets Julianna of Moncrieff, who is the daughter of the earl's bride (they all married really young in those days). Julianna was married off as a child to an old, abusive husband, and now that he's dead, she wants nothing further to do with men. Nicholas, who prides himself on being able to charm any woman he wants, is at first picqued by her indifference to him. Soon, he becomes fascinated by her mixture of toughness and kindness, and of innocence and warinesss, and he immediately embarks on a course of seduction of the wary widow. She resists him, but is secretly falling under his spell.
At Fortham, intrigue is heavy as various characters try to trip each other to get to the relic. There's an evil abbot, a priest, a ruthless teenage assassin, the powerful earl himself, the cunning Nicholas and his servant Bogo. And Julianna and her mother get in on the action as well. All the intrigue is handled very well by Stuart, and it never gets confusing.
Julianna keeps up a tough shell, but she's helplessly drawn by Nicholas's sharp mind, by the way he sees into her soul, and of course, by his seductive charms. Nicholas thinks he's got everything under control; he thinks he's not falling desperately in love with Julianna, and besides, he's a scoundrel with a precarious future and nothing to offer a lady such as she. Being proven wrong has never been this crazy and sweet.
This book is a delightful medieval romp, with some intense and poignant moments in the romance between Nicholas and Julianna. There's a sweet secondary romance between Julianna's mother and the Earl of Fortham. Nicholas's rhymes are annoying, cheesy, and wicked, and there are some outrageous characters the likes of which only Anne Stuart can pull off with such aplomb. The language and sentence structure can be rather inelegant, and the ending seems a bit rushed, but overall, this is a very enjoyable read.

Great reference book for any repair

I bought this manual because I ran up a curb like an imbecile and put a nice size hole in my oil pan. The manual has great diagrams and was invaluable in replacing the oil pan. I am not a grease monkey by any means but with this manual by my side I was able to complete the repair without incident.

It would be useful for any repair seeing as it has thorough diagrams of nearly every part of the car. Do not buy this manual thinking you will be able to fix a blown head gasket or some other major mechanical malfunction using it as a reference book without any mechanical training. It is a service manual not an auto mechanic certification.

Overall a great piece of literature.

Ever older Passat Needs this.

2002 gls wagon, bought used and had so many gremlins that I finally broke down and picked up the Bentley. Everyone on the forums reccomends these and after receiving them I fould out why. So much information that they are like an encyclopedia for the car. Was helpful in troubleshooting an ignition problem, motor mount,. snub mount, axles and brake system problem. Yes.....all they typical VW passat issues. WOuld reccomend if you plan on keeping the car for a while. Have a high re-sale value so you can always sell them if your car ever dies :)

Good book! Very pricey.

There is a lot of good information in these books. Detailed photographs and exploded diagrams help with most replacement and repairs. It seems like in other manuals there is a lawyer disclaimer on every other page saying they do not take responsibility for breaking the car further or hurting you in the process. I get it. I am working on my own vehicle. It is great to turn the page, see the photograph matches what I am looking at. It shows manufacturer's part numbers and the proper name and the steps for removal and installation.

My only complaints have to do with the books themselves. They are expensive hard cover books. For the money, I don't want to get them dirty with oily hands or accidently rip the pages. They should be laminated to survive in the garage. They could also use colored tabs to find sections faster.
