About the Author
Dr. M. Sara Rosenthal is a bioethicist and sociologist with a long career as a medical health journalist. She is author of over twenty-five widely recommended health books. Her work covers everything from women's reproductive health issues to general health, and has been translated into languages as diverse as Chinese and Arabic. Rosenthal received both her Masters and Ph.D. in sociology and bioethics from the University of Toronto's Joint Centre for Bioethics, a World Health Organization Collaborating Center in Bioethics. She is an Associate of the University of Toronto Centre for Health Promotion, also a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre. Her work is also reviewed and reprinted on over 500 websites, and she is a frequent contributor to WebMD.

Thank You for This Book!

I'm going in for my thyroid lobectomy next week. This book has helped me very much. It is not easy to find good info on thyroid cancer and nodules and what happens when you have them. I am very thankful for this well-written and fact filled book. Very readable, too. A real page-turner. It jived perfectly with what my doctors have discussed with me and helped me make decisions I feel confident about. Knowledge is Power!

Make sure you get the second edition

I mistakenly bought this book (1st edition) and it was a waste of money since the information is dated....so I got the second version and read in a day. Most of the information is on the web, but it's put together in a straightforward language and having cancer is scary, so the more info you have the better you are equipped to deal. Obviously, if you're looking at this book, you or a loved one is going through this journey, so I wish you the best.

Taking a thematic approach, the book begins in 1952 with the Egyptian Revolution and ends with the Arab uprisings of 2011. It seeks to deepen our understanding of the authoritarianism and coercive systems that prevailed in these countries and the difficult process of transition from authoritarianism that began after 2011.

About the Author
Joseph Sassoon is an Associate Professor and Al-Sabah Chair in Politics and Political Economy of the Arab World at Georgetown University, Washington DC. Organotherapy, Drainage and Detoxification is a vitally important aspect of healing from chronic and autoimmune diseases. Detoxification is so much more than going on a cleanse or fast, or taking a binder such as cracked cell chlorella or zeolite. It is a process of preparing and supporting the organs of elimination such as the liver, lungs and kidneys so when the toxins are released the organs are not additionally stressed or degenerated. It is also a matter of using the right therapeutics to help draw out the toxins lodged in the cells to help restore optimal cell function. Joe's book is a great introduction to this subject. Organotherapy and drainage have been practiced in Europe for many decades but much of the information on this topic is not available in English. In writing this book Joe makes at least some of this information more accessible, but it is by no means complete as this is a complex subject that would fill many books. I also suggest researching the term Biotherapeutic Drainage for more on this important topic.
